With a redesigned cone structure, the Q650C amplifies midrange lucidity while its enhanced Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR), upgraded with a new surround and rear suspension, augments overall bass quality.

What makes this KEF Centre Channel speaker truly unique is its Uni-Q driver array. This configuration situates the tweeter in the heart of the midrange and bass cone, drawing us nearer than ever to achieving the acoustic perfection of a single point source. Coupled with KEF’s ‘tangerine’ waveguide over the tweeter, it results in an incredibly precise three-dimensional sound that is simply mesmerising.

Tweaking the tweeter

The KEF Q650C: Centre Channel Speaker comes with an added feature – a damped tweeter loading tube. This tube gently terminates the sound originating from the back of the tweeter, enhancing lower treble performance dramatically. Furthermore, a low-distortion inductor on the crossover ensures cleaner bass, thus improving the overall sound quality.

New system design

By housing the Uni-Q driver within its dedicated sealed enclosure, the stress on the cone is minimized, thereby enhancing clarity and detail while simultaneously producing cleaner bass. The design enhancements to this Centre Channel Speaker significantly improve midrange clarity by rendering it unnecessary to include a DC blocking capacitor in the crossover. This allows for a more natural transition between drivers, enhancing overall audio experience.
