The KEF Q950: Floorstanding Tower Speakers excel in reproducing the subtle nuances of bass instruments effortlessly. These speakers feature a larger roll surround and new suspension, which allows the KEF drivers to deliver cleaner bass even at high volumes. Additionally, the Q950 speakers boast a new cone structure that enhances midrange clarity, while an improved Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) with a new surround and rear suspension ensures superior bass quality.

"Sit anywhere" Uni-Q sound

One standout feature of the Q950 is its “sit anywhere” Uni-Q sound technology. By positioning the tweeter at the center of the midrange and bass cone, these speakers achieve an acoustic ideal where sound originates from a single point source. This revolutionary design is made even better with KEF’s innovative ‘tangerine’ waveguide over the tweeter, ensuring more accurate and immersive audio reproduction.

Tweaking the tweeter

Our new system design takes audio performance to the next level. By incorporating a damped tweeter loading tube, we achieve a gentle termination of sound from the back of the tweeter, resulting in a significant improvement in lower treble performance. Additionally, we have added a low-distortion inductor to the crossover, ensuring cleaner bass reproduction.

New system design

Our Uni-Q driver is now housed in its own sealed cabinet, reducing load on the cone and significantly enhancing clarity and detail. The result is a more immersive audio experience with cleaner bass output. Furthermore, we have made driver improvements that eliminate the need for a DC blocking capacitor in the crossover. This enhancement allows for a more natural roll-off between drivers, resulting in enhanced midrange clarity.
